"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." (Hosea 4:6). Apparently, the word knowledge appeared in the bible approximately 191 times from Genesis through Revelation.
I believe that information is the food of knowledge. When you are informed about a particular thing, it comes to your knowledge. It is impossible to translate a language you don't understand without knowing how to speak it fluently enough, the same applies to, driving, cooking, leading, teaching, talking, farming, banking, dancing, preaching, etc...
"Knowledge", they say, is "Power", and it is with knowledge comes understanding. He that seeks knowledge should also seek understanding, this reminds me of the story of King Solomon in the bible (2 Chronicles 1:8-12, 1 Kings 4:29), who asked God for wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding. He knew that if he had these three things, he would be the greatest amongst men. For God to give him these things that he desired, God discovered that this guy knew (based on information) that it was only from Him(God) could he(Solomon) get these things.
When a man seeks to improve knowledge in an area of study or interest, he acquires more information about it, researches thoroughly and makes sure he gets his solution. Having done these, he then gets proper information about what at some point in life would be of great benefit to him.
Today, there are a million and one things that information had changed. For instance, if Alexander Graham Bell did not invent the telephone in 1874, would you ever dream of using a BlackBerry today?... or if Henry Ford did not invent cars, would you own that Range Sport? This is to prove to you that information changes alot of things and our level of thought. I was amazed when i saw the iPad, one thing that suprised me was what it looked like, to me it looks like a picture frame, flat, light weighted and very portable. Funny enough, i don't have one yet but it's extremely amazing!!! No hard feelings but i know most of us reading this post never seen it yet, you really need to see it. What i'm trying to say in essence is, having seen an iPad once, i "KNOW" what it looks like, that is, i have a "KNOWLEDGE" of what it looks like so it's easy for me to describe it and explain what it's functions are. If you are one of those people that don't find pleasure in surfing the internet to discover truths about latest inventions, then i'm afraid to tell you that you still live in the days of our colonial masters. If you still don't have an Email yet, you still live in the days of the Prophets. Then for you who have never seen a Laptop, BlackBerry, Flash Drive, iPhone or an iPod before, then you live in the days of Homo Erectus & Homo Sapien-Sapien! LOL... But really, to be candid, most people are just not interested in acquiring more knowledge about anything at all. Step out of you comfort zone! Learn more and you'd be glad you did... Remember! KNOWLEDGE is POWER!!!
